Choose the proxy type, or clear the proxy fields
The empty entry means no proxy
The first entry in the type list is No proxy. Under that entry a typed address says one thing while the picker says another.
So the line asks you to settle it. Settling it is one click, and everything else you typed stays where it is.
What the app counts as typed
A host, a port, a user name or a password. Any one of them on its own is enough for the type to be asked for.
An empty form is a different case. With a type picked or without one it saves quietly, and the profile then runs with no proxy.
Clearing the fields is a real answer
The port has a line of its own
A port outside 1 to 65535 is not a port, and an empty one is not a port either. The line naming that range comes once the type and the host are in place.
The proxy library has no empty entry in its type list. The only two things that can be missing there are the host and the port.
The mark on a profile already saved
The two lines above come back when you press Create or Save, or when you test the proxy from that same form. Nothing reads those fields while you are still typing.
The third case belongs to a proxy already sitting on a profile, and the list carries a mark reading not applied beside it, in the cards and in the table alike. Hovering that mark spells the reason out, and testing such a proxy answers with the same words instead of dialling anywhere.
One door for every launch
The button in the list, a run ordered by another program through the local interface and a flow all go through one launch.
A proxy that is set and cannot be applied ends that launch with a line naming the profile. Quietly going direct instead is the single failure this product exists to prevent.
The paste window sets the default
The paste window carries a picker for lines with no scheme in front of them. Choose SOCKS5 there and those same lines come in as SOCKS5, while a line that names its own scheme keeps it.
A line with no readable port is not read at all and comes back among the skipped ones. An imported table is a different road: a blank type column there means HTTP, and a type nobody knows is named out loud rather than swapped for one.
What this article does not cover
- Whether the proxy answers at all. These three lines read the form and dial nowhere.
- A profile that opens and loses its exit along the way. Those lines are about a connection rather than a form.
- Which proxy to buy. The app takes what your seller gave you and says when it cannot use it.

Questions
- I picked a type and typed nothing. Why is there no complaint?
- An empty form is not a half filled one. The profile saves with no proxy, and the list says so.
- Can I save the address now and pick the type later?
- No. The proxy fields are saved together or not at all, so there is no half saved state waiting for you.
- Does the same happen when I set a proxy on many profiles at once?
- Yes, and an empty form there means taking the proxy off all of them, which is confirmed before anything happens.
- Why refuse instead of saving and warning me?
- A warning can be walked past, and what it leaves behind is a profile that reads as configured. The form is the last place where this still costs nothing to fix.
