Save proxy traffic

Residential and mobile proxies are sold by the gigabyte, and images and video take most of it. Traffic saver stops them loading in one profile. The path is Edit profile, then Traffic saver under the proxy fields.

Two switches

Traffic saver in the New profile and Edit profile windows has two checkboxes: Do not load images and Do not load video. Both are off by default, and each has its explanation in view.

It works on both engines from the next launch. If the profile is open, the window says the change takes effect at the next launch.

What still loads

Captcha images always load, so a captcha can still be solved. A site may notice that the other images did not load.

Do not load video stops video files on all sites and streaming video on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok and Twitch. On other sites some video may still play: they load it differently.

Where you see it

The card of the profile carries a mark: No images, No video, or No images or video. The start page of the profile says what is not loaded, for example Traffic saver: images are not loaded.

Many profiles at once

Select profiles and press Traffic saver in the bar above the list. The window has two rows, Images and Video, each with Do not change, Do not load and Load; Apply changes only what a row says.

Do not change keeps what each profile has now. A profile closed by a password is named and left as it was.

What this does not do

A server you built yourself before the update does not keep the setting: then it stays on this computer only. With our server it travels through the account to your other computers and colleagues, and also with a profile export and through the local API.
It does not stop every video player on every site. The list of streaming sites is named in the window.
It does not change an open profile: the switches take effect at its next launch.

Questions

Does a site see that images are off?: It can see that images on its pages did not load. The fingerprint of the profile stays the same with the saver on and off.
The captcha does not show. Is the saver to blame?: Captcha images from reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha, Cloudflare, Arkose and GeeTest load even with images off. Turn the saver off for this profile to compare.
