IP reputation
IP reputation is the view a platform takes of an address, built from what it has already seen done through it.
What a platform is reading
Two things, and only one of them is about you. Public registries say which network an address belongs to and what that network is for, and the platform's own records say what arrived from it before.
What kind of network it is
A hosting range is openly a machine room. A subscriber line looks like a household because it is one.
How many accounts came from it
A dozen sign ups from one address in a day is the pattern every platform is built to notice.
What those accounts then did
Complaints, refunds and removals attach to the address as well as to the account that earned them.
Who else is on it right now
A shared pool means strangers are writing into the same record you are.
The verdict belongs to the platform
Whatever list you consult, the view that decides your sign in is kept by the site itself and is not published.
An address described as clean is clean according to whoever sells it. The platform was never asked.
What moves it and what does not
Time and ordinary use move it, because the record is built from behaviour across days rather than from one visit.
Nothing done on your own machine touches it. The record lives on the other side, and a browser cannot reach across to edit it.
What the app tells you about an address
The check on a row reports the address that answered, the country it answered from and how long it took. That is a liveness reading and not a verdict.
The exit country is what gives a profile its clock and language list, and that is the part your own setup can actually get wrong.
Often confused with
A mail blocklist
Those lists are public and they are about sending mail. A platform deciding on a sign in keeps its own record and shows it to nobody.
A fingerprint
A fingerprint is what the browser says about the machine. Reputation is what the platform remembers about the address, and one cannot cover for the other.
Geolocation
Where an address sits is a fact anyone can look up. What it is worth to a platform is an opinion that platform keeps to itself.
What this does not do
- ARMANOS does not measure reputation. There is no score anywhere in the app, no list of good or bad addresses, and no lookup that would produce one.
- A check says an address answered a moment ago. It says nothing about how any platform will treat it.
- It does not clean an address. A record written by other people through the same address is not yours to erase.
- No kind of address is safe by its kind. A subscriber line with a history behind it is worse than a machine room address with none.
Check it
Each claim above is one place in the code and one stand.
- Everything the address check returns, and nothing beyond it
- apps/desktop/src/main/main.js
- The exit country is asked through the address itself
- apps/desktop/src/lib/exitGeo.js · apps/desktop/test/exit-geo.js
- The network panel shows what the sources returned and omits the rest
- apps/desktop/src/manager/renderer.js
- No page here may promise an address that is never refused
- apps/web/test/длинные-страницы.js
Questions
- How do I check the reputation of my address?
- Not in this app. Scoring services will each give you their own list's opinion, and the platform you actually care about keeps a different one.
- Is a residential address always better?
- Not always. It is harder to tell from a real visitor, and it still carries whatever the people before you did through it.
- Does a fresh address mean a fresh record?
- New to you is not new to the network. Mobile pools recycle constantly, and an address you have never used has been used.
- Can a browser profile repair a bad address?
- No. A profile changes what the browser reports about the machine, while the record sits with the platform.
- Why did one account pass and another fail on the same address?
- Because account history counts too. The address is one input among several, and an older account carries more of its own weight.
Read an address before you trust it
The free plan gives two profiles, with no time limit and no card.
